An OFW who recently returned home in Davao Oriental was shot by unidentified motorcycle-riding gunmen on Saturday.
Junifer Paredes was declared dead on arrival at the hospital after the attack at the Dahican village around five in the afternoon, says Southern Mindanao police spokesperson Chief Insp. Andrea dela Cerna.
According to reports, Paredes was on his way home, riding his car, when two assailants hired towards him several times. The two suspects were riding a motorbike, says Dela Cerna.
After the incident, his assailants drove away.
His relatives sent the OFW to the Davao Oriental Provincial Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival by attending physicians.
Policemen who responded at the crime scene was able to discover caliber 45 pistol shells.
Paredes previously worked as an engineer in Saudi Arabia and just returned to the country.
The investigation over the case is underway.
