According to her father, she began shaving when she finally met the person who made her heart flutter.

17-year-old Supatra “Nat” Susuphan holds the world’s title for the hairiest girl in the world and has been nicknamed after Star Wars character ‘Chewbacca’.

Apparently, Supatra was suffering from a rare syndrome called ‘Ambras’. Her face and entire body is almost completely covered in hair and shaving it can be quite a feat. However, Supatra’s father Samreng has confirmed that though she still suffers from Ambras Syndrome, she started shaving her face and body after marrying the one who has become the love of her life.

She has all amazing and lovely things to say about her husband. It was taken to Facebook where the caption of a photo read, “not just my first lover, you’re the love of my life.”

Before the Ambras Syndrome was understood, sufferers were branded ‘werewolves’. She was ostracized and often bullied by others, calling her a werewolf among other names. But for Supatra, her hairy body is a blessing, and she never fails to smile and laugh like others. “Being hairy makes me special,” she said. As a matter of fact, one of the most exciting moments of her life was the moment when she was crowned the hairiest girl in the world.

Supatra is just one of just 50 known sufferers of Ambras Syndrome, a condition caused by a faulty chromosome. Only around 50 people in the world are known to have suffered from Ambras Syndrome since the middle Ages. Supatra was 11 when she won the Guinness World Record of the hairiest girl on planet Earth in 2010.
