The Oakland Raiders have wanted Jon Gruden all along, that much was known, but what they were willing to pay to get him? That was the big question mark.
Well, on Friday we found out what Gruden’s new deal was going to look like, and as ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported, it’s an absolute monster. He’ll sign on with the Raiders for 10 years and make roughly $100 million.
Raiders are giving new head coach Jon Gruden a 10-year contract, the longest coaching deal in NFL history, sources tell ESPN. The deal is likely to be worth about $100 million.

It goes without saying that this will almost certainly make Gruden the highest-paid coach in the NFL, and there likely won’t be a coach who rivals him anytime soon. Mark Davis knew who he wanted as the team’s next lead man, and he didn’t hold back when it came to the monetary side of things.
We’ll keep you updated when the terms are made official, but it’ll likely come early-to-mid next week.
