Being a doctor isn’t easy. These hardworking people study so hard through medical school, and then they slave away in the hospital just to make sure every patient is getting better each day.

Then, some doctors spend another few more years (and hundreds and thousands of ringgit) to become specialists. After years of hard work and studying, it totally sucks to have someone ruin your credibility just like that!

As terrible as it was for the doctor’s name and credentials to be unjustly used like this, Dr Loo was more worried for the public.

“I was shocked and worried that my identity has been hijacked, but more than that, there might be victims who have already fallen for this scam.”

“There is no such thing as a one-skin-care product that can be used for all kinds of skin diseases. That is false information.”

The doctor, who is part of the Peter Ch’ng Clinic in Desa Parkcity, tried to contact the website to take down the article. Unfortunately, they could not be contacted.

However, things took a sudden turn when the website suddenly changed its look. The article misusing Dr Loo’s name was gone and the website became something different.

“I am shocked that such unscrupulous persons out there could steal someone’s identity to represent whatever they want to sell.”

“Other doctors could be the next victim, and I’m sure many innocent customers have fallen for this lie.”

“I am fortunate enough some of my clients saw this and notified me, or else it would have damaged the good name and credibility of my practice and the Peter Ch’ng Skin Specialist clinic.”

Dr Loo advises everyone to see a doctor before using these products.

“Always consult a doctor face to face before purchasing any unknown products online. You might get scammed!”

She will be reporting this incident to the police as well as to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).
