At least he proved that he is a man of his word.
In today’s society, social media plays a massive role in connecting people across the world. It became easier to look for people, and has been the best platform to look for family and friends we failed to get in touch with through the years.
The Redford Township Police Department were having a hard time in looking for a wanted man named Michael Zaydel, which prompted them to take the search to Facebook. To their shock, Zaydel commented the police and dared them to gather a thousand likes on their next Facebook post. He added that if the cops will be able to pull the dare off, he would turn himself in and even bring a box of donuts for them.
Unfortunately for him, the police were up for the challenge and posted his photo on the department’s official Facebook page. The post surpassed the 1,000-share-mark and reached far more than expected.
On Monday evening, or ten days after issuing the challenge, the Redford Township Police Department announced Zaydel finally turned himself in. And keeping his word, he came with a box of doughnuts.
“This evening at approximately 6:30 pm Michael Zaydel made good on his promise to turn himself in to RTPD for his outstanding warrants,” the police said.
“He walked in on his own, and not only did he bring the donuts, he brought one bagel! We would again like to express our gratitude for the support of all who followed this, shared it, and left us positive feedback,” the post added.
Zaydel is wanted by the authorities for several outstanding arrest warrants.
