She barges in one night—while her parents were busy making love!
It is normal for married couples to engage in sexual activities from time to time, as keeping a healthy sex life leads to a healthy relationship. However, the time and place of doing so is important, especially when there are children around.
If parents totally freak out or even punish the child for catching them off-guard, it could lead to the association that sex is bad. Children who witness their parents making love can have devastating psychological and emotional effects on them, especially when they witness it regularly. Parents who are caught could only wish that their children didn’t see much.
Emma Lou Harris was having a steamy night with her husband Joe after a night of a few beers. Emma said: “I’d had two full beers that night and Joe had emptied the dishwasher without having to be asked. I knew right then and there it was game on. Pants. Off!”
But as things were getting hot, they didn’t notice their 4-year-old daughter barging into the room. They soon hear the child calling out, “Mammyyyyyyy!”
Emma says on her post: “My panic sweat glands jump into emergency mode busting open like a military operation and my vagina zips itself up to my back immediately before I’ve even had a chance to turn my head.
“I look up to see a moving smudge of colour in a ‘my little pony’ night gown rubbing its eyes and whinging. I pray to the baby Jesus that we have a poltergeist and I also pray it’s legally blind.”
Both Emma and Joe were caught off guard, with Joe suddenly getting off Emma, almost jumps up and exposes himself to the child. In a split-second, they were able to hide everything but were still scared that the child might’ve seen something. Thankfully, the little girl was still rubbing her eyes, indicating that she might not have fully awake yet. The couple could only wish their daughter didn’t see anything.
The child approaches them and tells her mother what woke her up: “She tells me she’s lost her soother in her bed and she needs me to look for it.”
Emma obliges and helps her daughter look for her soother. Emma adds: “She wanders into her room and says nothing. Puts her soother in and goes back to sleep while me and Joe stay awake all night staring at the ceiling and speak not one word to each other.”
It was definitely a traumatic experience—for the couple. Well, better lock doors before getting down and dirty guys!
There’s an inevitable moment in every parents life when your children catch a glimpse of something you’d much rather…
