Though technological advancements are always resulting in out-of-this-world creations, they can also ruin the simple and sometimes forgotten beauty of a night at the movies.

Alamo Drafthouse Cinema CEO Tim League believes that phones heavily disrupt the movie-going experience, enforcing a strict “no phone” rule in his Austin, Texas-based theater chain.

But rumor has it that Apple will release a “theater mode” on its latest iPhone update, giving birth to League’s worst nightmare. Though the details are still under the hood, the update would help people text more discreetly during a screening.

In a short, official Alamo Facebook post, the CEO threatened to open a can of “whoop-ass” if the rumors were true. However, League shouts out Apple CEO Tim Cook, saying that someone of the same name wouldn’t dare make “such a mistake.”

In April League posted an official statement regarding a proposed idea allowing phone use in his theaters: “Regardless of your age, turning off your phone and focusing on a good movie is much-needed therapy.  This time of focus in a darkened room is core to the experience of cinema. Only with this focus can you lose yourself completely in the story and really fall into the magic spell of the movies.”

The good fight continues.
