For years, doctors have stressed that heavy drinking could wreak havoc on our livers and overall cardiovascular health. While the effects of binge drinking are absolutely terrible, a new study unveiled at the American Heart Association’s annual meeting revealed that drinking in moderation could actually help people avoid one seriously bad health issue.
In a study conducted by researchers from Penn State University, it was discovered that drinking a pint of beer a day could significantly reduce your risk of stroke.

The study, which spanned six years, followed a group of nearly 80,000 healthy Chinese adults and monitored the effects moderate alcohol consumption had on high-density lipoproteins (HDL), or good cholesterol.
