BTW

Only a few weeks after the Google Pixel smartphone was released to the public, it still is not immune to hackers who want to infiltrate your device. That was proven true by a team of Chinese hackers in less than a minute at the PwnFest hacking competition on Friday.

A team of white-hat friendly hackers from Qihoo 360, an internet security company, accessed the Google Play store before opening a Chrome web page that read “Pwned By 360 Alpha Team.” As Forbes reports, the hackers managed the deed in less than 60 seconds to win a $120,000 prize.

Adrian Ludwig, the director of Android security, told Motherboard earlier this month that the Pixar and the iPhone were about the same as far as security is concerned. Considering this is the second time the device has been infiltrated by white-hat hackers since its release that month, Pixel users could be forgiven for not necessarily believing that at this moment.

Google said the bug found in Chrome was patched within a day of the hacking.
